Allergan Voluntary Recalls Worldwide BIOCELL Textured Breast Implants and Tissue Expanders

Shots:

• Allergan voluntarily recalls BIOCELL textured breast implants and tissue expander as a precaution following the US FDA’s notification on global safety of breast implant-associated with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL)
• The global recall of BIOCELL has no effect on Allergan’s NATRELLE smooth or MICROCELL breast implants and tissue. The US FDA has not recommended removal or replacement of textured breast implants or tissue expanders in asymptomatic patients
• BIOCELL are saline-filled and silicone-filled textured breast implants and tissue expanders and will not commercialize in any market where they are currently available
