Medtronic Acquires Mazor Robotics for $1.64B or $1.34B to Transform Spinal Technologies and Improve Outcomes

- Medtronic will acquire Mazor’s American Depository Share (for $58.50) or Ordinary share (for $29.25 (104.80 ILS)) per share, making it total of ~$1.64B or ~$1.34B respectively. The acquisition is expected to close in Q3’ 25 Jan, 2019
- The gain will obtain Mazor’s technology to build spine surgery platform including the Mazor X, the Renaissance Surgical-Guidance System for surgical planning, execution and confirmation
- In 2016, Medtronic and Mazor entered into strategic and equity investment agreement and in Aug, 2017 Medtronic acquired worldwide rights for Mazor’s Mazor X system
