Roche to Launch Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test for Suspected COVID-19 Patients

- Roche plans to launch a high-volume SARS-CoV-2 Antigen test to aid the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Roche intends to file US FDA’s EUA while the test is expected to be available at the end of 2020 for markets accepting the CE Mark
- The test will run on all Roche cobas e immunochemistry analyzers and can provide results in 18mints. The test requires nasopharyngeal/ oropharyngeal swab samples from patients with signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 or people with suspected exposure to the virus
- In combination with other COVID-19 diagnostic tests, the test can help in the management of patients for optimal care delivery
